Documentation

U.S. Citizens: You must have a valid passport for your trip to the Dominican Republic.

  • The name on your electronic airline ticket confirmation must match the name on your passport.
  • If you currently have a passport, please verify that it will not expire at least six months after your travel dates and includes two blank pages.
  • For information about applying for a passport, visit travel.state.gov or contact the National Passport Information Center (NPIC) toll-free at 877-487-2778 or by e-mail at NPIC@state.gov. Normal processing time is four to six weeks. Do not mail the completed application to Travel Headquarters.
  • To EXPEDITE passport processing, contact CIBT at 800-929-2428 or visit cibt.com. Note: CIBT charges a fee to assist you in expediting your passport, which will be a personal expense.
  • We suggest that you make several photocopies of your passport. Be sure to leave copies at home with family members and carry copies in your purse and/or carry-on luggage, in the event your passport is lost or stolen. This will make the reissuance of your passport much easier.

Non-U.S. Citizens: You are responsible for securing the required travel documents for your trip. YOU MUST CHECK with the Consulate of each country listed on your itinerary to make sure you have all the necessary travel documents. Country-specific travel documents may be required when connecting through countries other than your final destination.

If you are a citizen of a United States Visa Waiver Program (VWP) country, you are required to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization or ESTA at least 72 hours prior to travel to the U.S. For additional information regarding the new requirements and to apply, visit: U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
